You're just going to have to live with 4 and learn not to do it again, unless there's one you can drop safely and it's not too late.ĥ, get other books on the topic. Fix 2 by getting some damn sleep and getting out once in a while. And it's also never too late to start with this method! I bet you can chew through a couple problems this evening.Īnyways, if you can do math, you should be able to sort out the physics!Ģ, 4 are your own fault. If you really get stuck, you have something to take with you when you go to the professor's (or a TA's) office hours. If you get stuck, the next line is there in the book to help you out of your difficulties. (This usually works better if the class follows the book fairly closely.) There may be a student solution manual with solutions to some of the problems in the book as well. I'm not familiar with the textbook you're using but I would recommend trying to study by doing the worked problems in the book and from class. is there something you could consider dropping? (It took me one overloaded semester to realize that I got better grades and enjoyed myself more when I only took five classes instead of six.) You mention that you're "taking way too many classes". There are a few things you can't do much about (eg, the prof is useless), but there are a few other things that you could try to change. Also, there is still a pretty big part of the semester left to go and you still have a pretty good chance to get things under control! Anyways, the moral here is mostly that getting bad grades doesn't make you a failure. (This was later scaled up to 40% by some mysterious scheme.) After that debacle I buckled down and ended up with a B in the class. I failed my first QM midterm - my grade was a whopping 20%, consisting mostly of pity marks. It's scary to contemplate failing a course. It sounds like you're keeping a pretty level perspective on the situation. Has anybody failed Physics, or another class in this manner before? - where you go to class knowing you'll fail, knowing there's little you can do about it, and not exactly knowing why you can't cope with the material that really isn't that bad? I'll plan on taking it again in the fall, hopefully the subject clicks by then. I don't hate physics either and I'll definitely be using the subject in future classes. I actually understand enough of the concepts, I just can't keep up with them and the amount of homework from my other classes. Notice that none of the above reasons include 'can't make sense of physics,' which is partially true. I've never had less than a C in a class before and so far, I'm doing well in the 1 Credit lab portion of the class as far as grades and understanding the material.īelow is a list of reasons why I think I'm failing/will fail. I don't think it's a lack of brains, I did well and enjoyed some pretty hard Calculus classes that many of my buddies had to retake. I'm 99% certain I will fail the first test tommorrow and the reason I'm writing this rather than studying is because studying doesn't seem to be much help in this case. Sorry if this topic has been visited in the past, but I'm having an extremely hard time with Intro to Mechanical Physics and it's a pretty awakening experience. Cut to a few episodes later and Claire is crying to Jesse over an “innocent” kiss that occurred between her and Crypto Dog. Jesse confronted Claire (it’s debatable the way he actually went about it) but Claire and Adam both insisted that nothing had happened. It sounded like a man’s voice and not just any man. When Jesse returned home, he overheard Claire on the phone to someone. To spark your memory, on a “secret night out” Claire and Adam (AKA Crypto Dog) were chatting up a storm. Going back to earlier in the season, (feels like a million years ago now), who remembers when Claire totally gaslit Jesse? When Claire Gaslit Jesse Over The Adam Kiss Sadly, all good (read: messy) things must come to an end (until next year), so before this truly cooked season of MAFS finishes, let’s look back on its most unhinged moments. Between a proposal and a BFF sharing their love for a friend, is it rogue for me to say that the DoorDash ads have been more romantic than the show this season? It’s been 95% cheating scandals and couch-sleeping but let’s be real, we’re all gonna watch it anyway. This season, you may have noticed a more wholesome spin to MAFS’ ad breaks (because tbh, the show has been anything but).ĭoorDash found nine real Australians who are delivering messages of love to special people in their lives. The nights are getting darker earlier and it’s more socially acceptable to sit on the sofa three nights a week, judging people who chose to get hitched for a social experiment – in front of the whole country. Nothing marks the end of summer and the beginning of autumn like Married At First Sight. PEDESTRIAN.TV has partnered with DoorDash to help deliver the love this MAFS season. They're completely in sync and somewhat aloof, and the existing twins aren't too pleased about being displaced on the team, even if they recognize that the new members are better than they are on a whole. The twins from the first book now have the streak happening with the basketball team, and things are going swimmingly until another pair of twins moves into the district and get placed on the team. The second book still runs into that issue somewhat, but it's still a much more cohesive story with a more realistic start and finish than the first book, to its benefit. While one could take issue with the somewhat unrealistic and disproportionate responses of some of the characters to the happenings in the story, a lot can be easily forgiven. The initial read was a fairly inoffensive middle grade sports book that fits right into the wheelhouse of that boy reader looking for sports books that are a little more modern. While I enjoyed the first book in this series, I'll admit to not having incredibly high expectations for the second book. Realistic fiction is a great genre to compare with your own life. I could never wait for my next class period to read this amazing book and I can't wait to read the previous book in the series. This book is funny and encourages me to get on a basketball court and shoot hoops. I thought I was going to hate the realistic fiction genre and never find the right book but I did. Meanwhile, the twin with a broken arm and Russell become friends and the team was back together and winning. Owen was happier than ever because he got his team back but when he was convinced to help the healthy twin get better, they become friends. The other healthy twin was terrible without his brother. After their second game, which was a loss even with the twins, one of them broke their arm. They are all stars in academics and basketball and they ruin Owen and Russ's playing. Everything is going great in the team until two twins from Minnesota, Mitch and Marcus, come and own the team. Mark is about two brothers, Russell and Owen, who are on a basketball team together for their school called the Pioneers. The cover is appealing and bright, I think it would be a great book to add to your sports fiction section.ĮL –ADVISABLE Reviewer: Stephanie Elementary School Librarian & Author.ĭouble Dribble by W. The main character tries to find a balance between academics and sports, and coming from a teacher point of view I love it. I think upper elementary readers would love this book (series). Which was a disservice, because this book was an excellent book, with a great balance of characters, plot, and sports elements. To say I put off reading this book is an understatement, I loathe reading sports fiction. Will the two pairs of twins be able to reconcile their differences? When the new boys show off their amazing basketball skills Russ and Owen are worried that their favorite sport is being stolen from them. Russ is jealous, he and his brother have always been the token twins at the school. The new boys are identical twins and play basketball like they share one mind. The school basketball team is doing great this year and everything is terrific, until two new players arrive. Russell and Owen are fraternal twins who bonded in the first book over a shared love of basketball. $6.99 Content: Language: G (0 swears) Mature Content: G Violence: G Q: What type of internship should I do while an undergrad for this role?Ī: There are A&R internships that are available but they can be very competitive. See The Musician’s Way for inclusive guidelines to choose, master, and maintain a far-reaching repertoire.A: Artists & Repertoire. Titles in our core repertoire require relatively little practice time to prepare for performances, which helps us attain the work-life balance that underpins career sustainability. Collaborative FlexibilityĪs we amass large repertoires across several styles, we acquire the flexibility to partner with diverse musicians, thereby expanding our musicality, connections, and appearances. By assembling distinctive repertoires along with must-know standards, we can not only win more bookings but also differentiate ourselves as artists. The music we become known for performing – i.e., our core repertoire – communicates our identities as musicians. With many solo and ensemble titles stage-ready, we attract more engagements and can handle busy concert and gig schedules without exceeding our work capacity. And that mastery enables us to reach pinnacles of musical and technical fluency. Practicing and performing compositions over long periods of time leads to profound mastery, provided that we practice deeply. Artistic Freedomīy regularly reviewing our long-standing repertoire, we can perform the compositions with minimal effort, freeing us to be expressive and spontaneous in myriad ways. Six Benefits of Maintaining a Large Core Repertoire 1. Here are 6 reasons why building a sizable core repertoire elevates musical artistry and careers. What do pros understand that students don’t? And those long-standing compositions form our core repertoires. Instead, after learning new titles, they set them aside and move on to other music.īy comparison, we veteran pros regularly pick up fresh music but also practice and perform large amounts of deeply learned compositions. That is, they don’t maintain sizable repertoires of pieces that they can perform with relative ease. Having coached countless aspiring musicians, I’ve found that many commit an avoidable misstep that profoundly limits their development. “When you step on stage, your awareness of your material will anchor your control and set your creativity free.” As well as Windows and Mac OS X, eTcl is available for a number of constrained platforms, including Windows Mobile, and embedded (µclibc) Linux on x86, MIPSel, ARM, and PowerPC processors. Alien Invasion: Hudson Valley goes on to show how easy it is to call extradimensional activity. His easy local access isn’t the reason the area’s complaints take up most of the log. Marc D’Antonio, the chief photo researcher for MUFON, was born, raised and lives in the Hudson Valley. Ever since ghostly dirigibles were reported over the area in 1909. But the reports go back over 100 years, the two-hour special documentary points out. Just north of New York City, they’ve logged more UFO complaints than any other area in the world, bugging MUFON, the world’s largest civilian UFO investigative organization, with 3,000 extraterrestrial encounter reports in the past 10 years alone. The Hudson Valley wants to be Roswell East. Aliens are a nuisance, let’s face it, especially when you’ve got “an alien highway” in your basement.Īrea 51 has an excuse for its reputation, being government controlled and heavily secure. government can no longer deny the existence of UFOs, eyewitnesses feel emboldened to share their stories.” The residents of Pine Bush, in the heart of Hudson Valley, New York, can no longer take the undeniable. So is there some connection there between the two? Yet because the writers seem like they are almost afraid to reveal just a little more spread throughout the series about what they know about the whole story, we're left feeling baffled instead of captivated.Alien Invasion: Hudson Valley, the latest installment of discovery+’s Shock Docs franchise, opens with the disclaimer: “Now that the U.S. An example of how poorly this works out for the audience is one of the final scenes in Ep 10 when the dead boy has a dream/is in the afterlife (?) and sees the JASA lady's girlfriend's father with the compass. You feel the writers/producers are really confident in the show because they know what's really going on, but they don't give us enough information that hints at what's really going on, so we're not left intrigued, but confused as hell.Hell, even if the show would have relied on the trope of background news reports on TV screens giving updates on the alien invasion it would have helped provide that expositional context the show sorrily needed. No one ever ran into someone who gave us enough important expository updates on battles in the rest of the world or what countries were holding up well, or where the invasion was concentrated, or if there were literal alien ships zooming around the skies. Along with missing background action, the show was missing expositional context. It felt like you were watching a stage play (kicking one dead alien corpse? This was supposedly a WORLDWIDE massive invasion). This lack of background action also made the celebration scenes in Ep 10 feel so hollow – people were out celebrating on the streets but it just didn't feel real. Even the scenes where you see the US military housing civilians (where the doctor lady and her family went) felt so small-scale, like it was a pretend US army a student filmmaker uses by dressing his friends up in camo gear. It's fine if the show doesn't want to focus on the pow-bang alien invasion action, but because we got so few glimpses that there was a worldwide alien invasion, it simply didn't feel like the earth was under attack. Often there wasn't enough background action to make it feel like an alien invasion was actually happening. Missing background action was also a big problem in this show. But the other storylines seemed just too generic/manufactured to pull this off realistically. Nothing wrong with that (JASA girl storyline pulls this off well while still keeping us engaged with the larger invasion). I understand the aim of the show is to tell personal stories amidst an alien invasion. No joke, the imagery accompanying the opening credits is really good/spooky. The JASA storyline was really the only one driving the plot forward and I thought even all the bit players in that storyline did a good job. You believe she is really devastated by the death of her girlfriend and someone in that situation really could probably not give a **** less that the world is being invaded by aliens. She's the only one who doesn't seem like she's acting.

If the player does nothing and just watches events unfold, things will tend to follow historical paths, but with ample room for divergences. Our goal is not to force the world down a deterministic path so it aligns with actual history, but to set up events so such a path is at least possible and to otherwise ensure we include events which are historically plausible. PDM opts to change only those mechanics we feel are necessary- though sometimes in fundamental ways - as well as including a host of new events. Others, like Divergences, opt for an "alternate timeline" approach and present an entirely new what-if world history. Some mods, like VRRP, are designed to balance the economy but otherwise keep as close to Victoria II mechanics as possible without introducing new events.
